Independent Inquiry into the Affordable Homes Crisis
The National Inquiry into the Affordable Homes Crisis is seeking evidence on the key issues being faced by those who cannot afford or who are struggling to afford a decent home. It is inviting views on what people think needs to be done to address the need for more affordable homes in different parts of England. To add your views please go to the
online survey
The independent inquiry is supported by Citizens Advice, CDS Co-operatives, Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG), National Housing Federation (NHF), National Union of Students (NUS), Sitra, TUC and UNISON. We will be holding oral evidence hearings across the country, listening to the voices of civil society.
Your experience and thoughts, and those of friends and family members, are very important to the Inquiry. I very much hope that you will take part and that you will be able to spare some time to give us your views. All the evidence gathered will input into our recommendations and be used in our final report to be launched in early 2012.
If you are a charity, local authority, housing association, trade body or other organisation involved in housing provision and/or concerned with the lack of affordable housing we would welcome your views. We would invite you to submit written evidence and respond to the 10 key points set out in the Terms of Reference (

). We would also be interested in inviting you to attend or to give oral evidence at one of the proposed hearings. To find out more and to get involved contact
